The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 106 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Five people were arrested in that time.
Multiple Residential Break and Enters in Pain Court CK16027566
On Wednesday, August 24th 2016, police responded to an address on Winterline Road in Dover Township in regards to a break and enter to a detached garage and storage shed. While investigating that incident police learned that several other premises had been broken into on neighboring properties. The total amount of stolen property is yet to be determined.

Woman Arrested on Outstanding Warrant CK16027625
On July 25th 2016, the woman was present at a commercial address on Grand Avenue East in the city of Chatham at which time she was found to be in possession of property believed to be stolen. The property was seized by police and subsequent investigation determined the property belonged to a business that had earlier been victim to a break and enter. As a result a warrant was issued for the woman’s arrest.
Yesterday afternoon, police were dispatched at an address on Park Avenue West for an unrelated matter. Upon entering the residence police located the woman who was found hiding in a closet, she was arrested without incident. The 35-year-old Chatham woman has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5000. She was released pending a future court date of September 20th, 2016.
Man Charged with Failing to Comply CK16026384
On August 11, 2016 the man was charged with several drug related offences and released on conditions to reside at a specific address in Chatham. Further investigation revealed that the man had since changed his address and failed to report this change to police.
Yesterday afternoon, police located the man and he was arrested. The 30-year-old Chatham man has been charged with failing to comply with his conditions. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Woman Charged with Domestic Related Offence CK16027680
Just before midnight last night, a verbal argument began between the married couple at their residence in Merlin. The dispute escalated and the woman allegedly set the residence on fire causing minor damage. Police were called and the woman was arrested.
The 54-year-old Merlin woman has been charged with one count of arson. She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
