The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 94 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Two people were arrested.
Two Men Charged with Break and Enter CK16010981
Last night around 6:00 p.m. an observant citizen noticed suspicious activity on Foster Street in Chatham and called police. Through investigation, two men were found inside a storage building gathering scrap copper wire.
A 29-year-old Chatham man and 42-year-old Tilbury man were both arrested and charged with break and enter. They have both been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Break and Enter in Wallaceburg CK16010952
Sometime between April 23 at 5:00 p.m. and April 24 at 10:00 a.m. unknown suspect(s) removed several items, including various tools, tires, rims and a set of golf clubs from a carport and shed on Water Street. Total value of the theft is estimated at $3000.

Break and Enter in Chatham CK16010973
Sometime yesterday afternoon between 1:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. unknown suspect(s) entered an unlocked residence on Blythewood Crescent and stole diapers and various jars of baby food.

Pilot Makes Emergency Landing CK16010919
Yesterday morning, police received information that a plane had just been seen landing in the area of Drury Line. Officers located the pilot, a 58-year-old Chatham man, in a field on Erieau Road, south of Drury Line. His Challenger Ultralight airplane ran out of fuel before he could return to the Chatham Airport forcing him to make an emergency landing. Luckily, the pilot was not injured. The plane sustained damage to its landing gear.

The Chatham-Kent Police, Fire, EMS, OPP as well as the residents of Chatham-Kent are being called to action this month. The call is in support of ‘Uniforms Unite to Save Lives’ — a month-long blood donor campaign that promotes the need for blood. Roll up your sleeves and help us save lives.
Today, there will be a blood donor clinic at the Dresden Arena, 1212 North Street from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
