Chatham-Kent Daily News Release – 24Oct2016

The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 101 calls for service in the last 24 hours. One person was arrested.

Woman Charged with Assault CK16035897

On October 22, 2016 a verbal argument began between the woman and her ex-boyfriend while at his residence in Chatham. The dispute escalated into a physical altercation as the woman assaulted both the man and his girlfriend.

The woman fled the residence as 911 was called. The man was transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for medical attention of non-life-threatening injuries.

Yesterday afternoon, police located the woman and she was arrested.

The 48-year-old Chatham woman was charged with two counts of assault. She was released pending a future court date of November 9, 2016.

Theft from Garage CK16035873

Sometime late Saturday night or early Sunday morning, unknown suspect(s) entered an unlocked garage on Villa Court in Chatham and stole a black Olympus men’s 21 speed bicycle valued at $500.

Mischief in Wallaceburg CK16035900

Sometime over the weekend, unknown suspect(s) damaged a rear window at DS Walker Jewellers on Margaret Avenue. Damage has been estimated at $300.

Mischief in Blenheim CK16035922

Yesterday, around 5:30 p.m. police responded to an alarm at Blenheim District High School on Chatham Street South.

Upon arrival, a window was found to have been broken by a rock. Damage was estimated at $100.

Donations for Operation Cover-Up will be accepted. Monetary donations will go towards this year’s ‘Shop with a Cop’ event in December.
