Chatham-Kent Daily News Release – 24Nov2016

The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 122 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Five people were arrested. Three of the five people were arrested on outstanding warrants.

Woman Arrested from Wanted List CK16039917

On September 7, 2016 the woman was released from custody for the offences of possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000, resist arrest and escape lawful custody. She was released pending a future court date.

On November 9, 2016 the woman failed to attend court and a warrant was issued for her arrest.

Yesterday, the woman attended the Wallaceburg Service Centre to sign in as per her release conditions. At this time, she was arrested on the outstanding warrant. The 19-year-old Wallaceburg woman has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man Charged with Breach of Probation CK16039892

On March 29, 2016 the man entered into a Probation Order with several conditions. One of those conditions stated that he was not to attend within 50 meters of a specific woman’s home in Chatham.

Yesterday, the man attended the residence and knocked on the woman’s door. The woman opened the door and found the man standing there. She told him to leave and closed the door.

Officers located the man a short distance away and he was arrested. The 33-year-old Chatham man has been charged with breach of probation. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Motor Vehicle Collisions

CK16039903 – Yesterday afternoon, police responded to a two vehicle collision on Patteson Avenue between Lacroix Street and Inshes Avenue in Chatham. No one was injured. Total damage was estimated at $9000. A 30-year-old Chatham woman was charged with making a turn not in safety.

CK16039925 – Last night, police responded to a two vehicle collision on St. Clair Street between Wiltshire Drive and McFarlane Avenue in Chatham. No one was injured. Total damage was estimated at $5000. A 79-year-old Kent Bridge woman was charged with failing to yield the right of way.

CK16039939 – Last night, police responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Fifth Line in Raleigh Township. The driver, a 39-year-old Dover Township man sustained minor injuries and was taken to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for medical attention. Damage was estimated at $10,000. He has been charged with careless driving.

Mischief in Ridgetown CK16039868

Yesterday morning, police responded to the area of Lisgar Street South in Ridgetown as unknown suspect(s) had spray painted rude words with a drawing on the roadway.
