Man Charged with Domestic Related Offences CK16006980

On March 18, 2016 the man attended his ex-girlfriend’s residence in Chatham and a verbal argument ensued. The man threatened the woman and raised his arm in a striking motion as if he was going to hit her with his fist. A female witness observed the altercation and stepped in to help. The man threatened the witness and left the area.

On March 21, 2016, police became aware of the incident and attempts were made to locate the man. Yesterday morning, the 32-year-old Chatham man was taken into custody and charged with assault and two counts of uttering threats. He was transported to the court house pending a bail hearing.

Man Charged with Assault CK16006944

On March 21, 2016 the man and his girlfriend began arguing at a residence in Blenheim. The incident escalated into a physical altercation as the man assaulted the woman. As the day went on, the man still enraged continued to assault the woman. The man fled the residence prior to police arrival.

Yesterday afternoon, the 22-year-old Blenheim man was arrested and charged with three counts of assault. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man Charged with Mischief CK16007055

This morning around 1:00 a.m. police responded to a residence in Wallaceburg in regards to a mischief complaint. Through investigation, police learned that around 11:30 p.m. the man attended the victim’s residence. The man was asked to leave the residence as he was not welcome. As the two men, known to each other started arguing, the man threw a whiskey bottle and shattered a glass door. The man fled the area prior to police arrival. Damage was estimated at $100.

Just before 4:00 a.m. officers located the man and he was taken into custody. The 26-year-old Wallaceburg man has been charged with mischief under $5000. He will be released when sober with conditions pending a future court date of April 8, 2016.

Woman Charged with Theft CK16007015

Yesterday afternoon around 3:00 p.m. the woman attended Best Buy on St. Clair Street in Chatham. The woman stole two D-Link network cameras valued at approximately $300. Police were immediately called as the store alarm was activated. Officers were given the physical description of the woman and her last known direction of travel. At 3:25 p.m. officers located the woman and she was arrested. Through investigation, officers learned that the woman was also wanted on an outstanding warrant for a previous shoplifting incident on March 19, 2016 at the Downtown Chatham Centre.

Tracy Bechard, 30 years, of Minnie Street in Wallaceburg has been charged with theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000. She was released with conditions pending a future court date of April 12, 2016.

Break and Enter in Chatham CK16006997

Sometime between March 16, 2016 and March 22, 2016 unknown suspect(s) entered the Entegrus substation on Grand Avenue East in Chatham and stole $500 worth of copper wire. Damage to the property was estimated at $3000.
