Man Arrested for Shoplifting, Possession of Drugs – CK16043386

Last night at approximately 9:15 pm, police responded to a business on Grand Ave West in Chatham in regards to a shoplifting complaint. A male party had left the business with an item in his possession that he had made no attempt to pay for. Officers attended the area and located the man outside the business where he was placed under arrest. The man was subsequently found to also be in possession of a small quantity of hydromorphone.

A 31 year old Chatham man has been charged with theft under $5000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5000, possession of a controlled substance, and fail to comply with an undertaking. He has been held in custody for a bail hearing.

Woman Arrested on Outstanding Warrants – CK16043378

Last night at approximately 9:00 pm, officers were present at a residence on Edgar Street in Chatham. At that time a woman was located who was found to be wanted on several outstanding warrants and was placed under arrest.

A 24 year old Chatham woman has been held for a bail hearing to answer to the charges of 2 counts of breach of probation and 2 counts of fail to attend court.

Woman Charged with Being Intoxicated in a Public Place – CK16043411

Last night around 2:00 am, police responded to the area of First Street in Wallaceburg in regards to a suspicious person complaint. Officers located a female party who was intoxicated and unable to care for herself. For her safety, she was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters.

A 37 year old Wallaceburg woman was charged with being intoxicated in a public place. She will be released when sober.

Break and Enter in Chatham – CK16043391

Sometime yesterday evening, unknown suspects forced their way into an apartment on Sheldon Ave in Chatham. Once inside the suspects stole an Xbox and a laptop computer.
