Man and Woman Charged with Failing to Comply CK17009524
In February 2017, the man was released from custody with conditions. Three of those conditions were, not to communicate in any way with a certain woman who is known to him, not to be within 100 meters of that woman’s residence which is located in Chatham and not to attend the Municipality of Chatham-Kent.
Yesterday morning police received a tip from a citizen that the man was at that address in Chatham. Police attended the woman’s residence and located the man inside. Just prior to the police entering the residence, the man injected himself with a needle believed to contain drugs.
Through investigation, police also learned that the man and woman were seen together in a vehicle which was parked outside of that residence. That vehicle had been reported as stolen out of London.
The 30-year-old Windsor man was arrested and charged with three counts of failing to comply, possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000 and possession of a controlled substance. He was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he has been held for a bail hearing.
In addition, the woman had been on probation since July, 2016. She was also on conditions not to communicate with the man in any way and not to be within 100 meters of him.
The 37-year-old Chatham woman was also arrested and charged with failing to comply and possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000. She was released from custody with a court date of Wednesday, April 12, 2017.
