Man Breaches his Curfew CK16006975

Around 1:30 a.m. this morning, an officer on general patrol observed the man riding a bicycle east bound on Grand Avenue in Chatham with no front light. He also had another bicycle beside him that he was trailering. The officer stopped the man to investigate and learned that he was currently bound by a condition to obey a daily curfew of 1:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m.

The 20-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested and charged with failing to comply. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrant CK16006969

Last night around 10:15 p.m. police located a man in Orford Township who was wanted for being unlawfully at large by the London Police Service.

The 29-year-old man was arrested and transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters until officers from London could attend and transport him back to London for court purposes.

Break and Enter in Chatham CK16006904

Yesterday morning, shortly after 8:30 a.m. police responded to a break and enter at Sabeti Auto Sales on Richmond Street in Chatham. On the property, J.R. Carey Enterprises stores a work vehicle within the fenced in compound. Sometime late Sunday night or early Monday morning, unknown suspect(s) entered the compound and smashed the windows of a 2007 Ford E-350 Econoline van. Various tools valued at approximately $16,000 were stolen from the vehicle.

Break and Enter in Chatham CK16006919

Yesterday morning around 11:50 a.m. police responded to a break and enter at BOB’s on Keil Drive in Chatham. Sometime between Sunday night at 11:30 p.m. and Monday morning at 7:00 a.m. unknown suspect(s) forced their way into the establishment by damaging a door. Once inside, the suspect(s) stole several bottles of liquor, a red Acer laptop, a black Dell laptop and a black Dell Inspiration Touch laptop. The suspect(s) also damaged the ATM machine and stole cash from its drawer. Total value of the theft is estimated at $800.

Man Charged with Driving While Under Suspension CK16006921

Yesterday morning around 11:30 a.m. an officer on general patrol observed the man known to him as being unlicensed driving a vehicle west bound on Indian Creek Road in Chatham. The officer initiated a traffic stop and confirmed that the man was currently unlicensed and suspended for unpaid fines.

The 50-year-old Chatham man was charged with driving with no license and driving while under suspension. The vehicle he was driving was towed from the roadway. He will be required to attend Provincial Offences Court on April 27, 2016.
