The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 138 calls for service in the last 24 hours. One person was arrested.

Last night, officers conducted a RIDE spot check in Chatham.

110 vehicles were stopped. Four roadside tests were administered. No one was charged.

The Chatham-Kent Police would like to remind all motorists that officers will be out in full force this holiday season in an effort to remove impaired drivers from our roadways. Woman Charged with Sending Messages Using a False Name CK16031920

In February 2013, the female youth operated a Facebook and Twitter account using the identity of the victim, another local teen, to communicate with a boy and start a relationship.

In August 2014, the female youth called the victim’s boyfriend and fabricated an abduction.

In September 2016, the female youth used a Tinder smart phone app to communicate with another boy identifying herself as the victim.

Last night, police located the female, now a 20-year-old Chatham woman and she was arrested. She has been charged with mischief under $5000, criminal harassment and 44 counts of sending a message in a false name. She was released pending a future court date of January 11, 2017.

Stolen Vehicle in Blenheim CK16043256

Around 9:00 p.m. last night, unknown suspect(s) stole a white 2007 Ford F-550 truck from Blenheim Chrysler.

The truck was last seen with a black dump box at the back and a 9’ orange plow attached to the front. The vehicle did not have license plates attached.
