Chatham-Kent Daily News Release – 22April2016

The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 116 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Two people were arrested.

Man Charged with Breaching his Release Conditions CK16010637

Last night, the man attended Subway on St. George Street in Dresden and made contact with a female employee, with whom he was not to associate or communicate with.

The 20-year-old Dresden man was arrested and charged with failing to comply. He was released pending a future court date of May 18, 2016.

Break and Enter in Chatham CK16010597

Sometime this past weekend, unknown suspect(s) entered an unlocked shed on Churchill Street and stole a Stihl gas chainsaw, Stihl leaf blower, Briggs and Stratton power washer, a dark grey men’s Raleigh mountain bike, a green woman’s Raleigh mountain bike and part of the roof rack of the homeowner’s Chrysler van which was parked in the driveway. Total value of the theft has been estimated at $2000.

Motor Vehicle Collision in Chatham CK16010553

Shortly after 9:00 a.m. yesterday morning, police responded to a two vehicle collision on Lorne Avenue near Raleigh Street.

Minor injuries were reported. Total damage was estimated at $15,000.

A 58-year-old Chatham woman was charged with disobeying a stop sign.

Motor Vehicle Collision in Wallaceburg CK16010561

Just before 11:00 a.m. yesterday morning, police responded to a two vehicle collision on Lorne Avenue between Wall Street and Brander Avenue.

No one was injured. Total damage was estimated at $4000.

An 18-year-old Wallaceburg man was charged with failing to yield.

Motor Vehicle Collision in Tilbury CK16010581

Yesterday afternoon, around 2:00 p.m. police responded to a two vehicle collision on Mill Street East near Queen Street.

No one was injured. Total damage was estimated at $6000.

A 51-year-old man was charged with an offence contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
