The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 123 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Three people were arrested.
Traffic Stop Leads to Criminal Charges CK16035530
On October 1, 2010 the man was suspended from driving for unpaid fines.
On June 27, 2015 the man entered into a Probation Order with several conditions. One of those conditions stated that he was not to possess or consume any unlawful drugs or substances.
Yesterday afternoon, an officer on general patrol observed the man driving a Honda Accord on Wellington Street in Chatham. A traffic stop was initiated and through investigation, the officer learned that the license plates were registered to a Pontiac Montana.
Upon being searched incident to arrest, the man was found to be in possession of hydromorphone.
Shaun Pinsonneault, 32 years, of Ursuline Avenue in Chatham was charged with breach of probation, drug possession, driving while under suspension and using plates not authorized for the vehicle.
The plates were seized from the vehicle. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
He was released pending a future court date of November 17, 2016.
Man Charged with being in Possession of Stolen Property CK16035525
On July 21, 2016 police responded to a theft from vehicle complaint in Chatham.
At this time, the vehicle owner reported that on July 19, 2016 cheques were stolen from her vehicle while it was parked on Mary Street.
Through investigation, police identified a man who was in possession of two stolen cheques.
Yesterday afternoon, Jordan Zoldy, 29 years, of Lacroix Street in Chatham was arrested and charged with being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000.
He was released pending a future court date of November 16, 2016.
Motor Vehicle Collision in Chatham CK16035509
Yesterday morning, police responded to a two vehicle collision on Richmond Street near Byng Avenue.
No one was injured. Total damage was estimated at $9000.
A 65-year-old Cambridge man was charged with making a turn not in safety.
