The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 152 calls for service in the last 24 hours. 6 people were arrested.

Motor Vehicle Collision in Chatham – CK16027041

At 1:10pm on Saturday August 20th, police responded to a two vehicle collision at the intersection of Wellington Street and William Street, in the city of Chatham.

A 57-year-old Merlin woman and a 74-year-old Chatham woman were both transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance with non-life threatening injuries.

Total damages were estimated at $30,000.

The collision remains under investigation.

Break and Enter in Chatham – CK16027012

The Chatham-Kent Police are looking for information regarding a break and enter in Chatham.

Sometime between 9:30pm on Friday, August 19th and 8:00am on Saturday, August 20th, unknown suspect(s) entered a garage on Chippewa Drive and stole a black Schwinn Hybrid bicycle.

Traffic Complaint– CK16027128

This morning around 12:40 a.m. Chatham-Kent Police received a traffic complaint regarding a pickup truck on McNaughton Avenue, in the city of Chatham.

Officers located the vehicle and believed the man was driving while under the influence of alcohol. A roadside breath test was conducted, resulting in a 30-year old Chatham man being issued a three-day license suspension.

This morning around 5:05 a.m. an officer on general patrol initiated a traffic stop on Bristol Drive, in the City of Chatham.

Through investigation the officer believed the man was driving while under the influence of alcohol. A roadside breath test was conducted resulting in a 34-year old Chatham man being issued a seven-day license suspension.
