The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 144 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Six people were arrested.

Woman Charged with Domestic Related Offences – CK16039437

On Saturday, November 19, 2016, around 4:00 PM, the woman and her ex-boyfriend became engaged in a verbal argument. The incident escalated into a physical altercation at which time the man was assaulted and his vehicle was damaged.

A 35 year old Ridgetown woman has been charged with assault and mischief under $5000. She has been released from custody with a future court date.

Man Arrested for Breaching Conditions – CK16039393

On October 7, 2016, a male party was released on bail in regards to a sexual assault charge. As part of his release, he was required to sign in weekly at the police station and not to be outside of his residence with alcohol in his body.

Yesterday morning the man attended the Blenheim police station to sign in as required. At that time he was found to have an odour of alcohol on his breath. Further investigation confirmed that he had consumed alcohol prior to attending the police station.

A 55 year old Harwich Township man has been charged with breach of recognizance. He has been released from custody with a future court date.

Man Arrested for Public Intoxication – CK16039500

Shortly after midnight last night, Police attended an address on Merritt Ave in Chatham in regards to an unwanted male party being present. On arrival, officers located an intoxicated man in the parking lot causing a disturbance. A 25 year old Harwich Township man was arrested for being intoxicated in public. He was held in custody until sober.

Break and Enter in Chatham – CK16039428

Sometime overnight between November 18 and November 19, 2016, unknown suspects entered a shed at an address on Eugenie Street in Chatham. Once inside they removed a Whirlpool humidifier, a Whirlpool dehumidifier, and various Christmas lights.
