Theft from Vehicles
Chatham-Kent residents are reminded to play it smart when parking their vehicles overnight. Bring your valuables inside for the evening; don’t leave loose change/small bills in visible areas and always make sure your doors are locked. Also try to park in lighted areas and minimize the cover provided by landscaping and other vehicles.
Most thefts are from unlocked vehicles and are crimes of opportunity were suspects want to be fast and quiet. Lock your doors and keep valuables out of sight and they are likely to move on to easier targets.
