Chatham-Kent Daily News Release – 19April2016

The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 121 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Five people were arrested.

Man Arrested from Wanted List CK16010222

On March 10, 2016 the man was charged with obstruct police and two counts of driving while under suspension. He was released however required to attend the courthouse on March 30, 2016 for the purposes of providing fingerprints. On this date, the man failed to attend and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Yesterday morning, the man attended police headquarters and turned himself in. The 35-year-old Chatham man was charged with failing to attend. He was released pending a future court date of May 11, 2016.

Two Women Charged with Theft CK16010301

Last night around 8:30 p.m. police responded to a shoplifting complaint at Walmart on St. Clair Street in Chatham.

A 21-year-old woman and 18-year-old woman, both from Chatham were arrested and charged with theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000. They were both released pending a future court date.

Theft of Copper Wire CK16010234

Sometime over the past weekend, unknown suspect(s) entered the Suncor Energy Substation on Huffs Side Road. Once inside the fenced in area, the suspect(s) stole approximately 60 feet of braided copper wire valued at $1500.

Break and Enter in Orford Township CK16010278

Sometime between April 1 and April 17, unknown suspect(s) entered a residence on Spence Line. Once inside, the suspect(s) stole several tools and household items.

Theft of Bikes in Chatham CK16010279

Sometime within the last week, unknown suspect(s) entered a shed on Park Avenue West and stole a black and white Schwinn bike and black and white CCM mountain bike. Total valued of the theft is approximately $1500.

Break and Enter in Chatham CK16010302

Sometime between April 14 and April 18, unknown suspect(s) entered a residence on Princess Street and stole about $750 worth of electronics.

Theft of Tools in Blenheim CK16010316

Sometime between April 16 at 7:30 p.m. and April 17 at 12:00 p.m. unknown suspect(s) entered an unlocked garage on Talbot Street and stole various tools.
