The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 126 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Two people were arrested in that time.
Man Charged with Domestic Related Offences CK16031144
On September 17th, 2016 in the early morning hours, the man and a woman became involved in an argument at a residence in Wallaceburg. The dispute escalated into a physical altercation as the man assaulted the woman by throwing a television at her. The man fled the area prior to police arrival. The man later turned himself in to Chatham-Kent Police and was arrested.
The 20-year-old Wallaceburg man has been charged with assault, assault with a weapon and mischief to property. He was released and given a future court date of September 30th, 2016.
Woman Issued 3 Day License Suspension CK16031246
Last night around 10:17 p.m.an officer on general patrol initiated a traffic stop on Joseph Street in Chatham. Through investigation the officer suspected the female was operating a vehicle with alcohol in her body. A roadside breath test was conducted resulting in the woman being issued a three-day license suspension.
Man Charged with Being Intoxicated in a Public Place CK16031264
This morning around 12:30 a.m. police responded to a disturbance at a licensed establishment on King Street near Fourth Street in Chatham. Officers located the intoxicated man who was unable to care for himself. For his own safety, officers arrested the man and transported him to police headquarters.
The 24-year-old Chatham man was charged with being intoxicated in a public place. He was held in custody and released when sober.
Break and Enter into Chatham Business CK16031281
This morning around 4:00 a.m. police responded to an alarm at Shoppers Drug Mart on St. Clair Street. Upon arrival, officers observed a broken glass window. The store was cleared and no one was found inside. Through investigation it was learned that the unknown suspect(s) had stolen several electronic items.
Total loss/damage to property is estimated to be over $1000.
