Chatham-Kent Daily News Release – 18July2016

The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 128 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Four people were arrested.

Serious Motor Vehicle Collision CK16022092

On July 16, 2016 around 12:30 p.m. emergency crews responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Swan Line between Baldoon Road and Border Road.

The driver was travelling eastbound on Swan Line when he lost control of his van, left the roadway, rolled and came to rest in a farmer’s field.

The 36-year-old Wallaceburg man was transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance – Sydenham Campus where he was stabilized for transport to the London Health Science Centre via air ambulance.

Total damage was estimated at $4000. The collision remains under investigation.

Man Charged with Domestic Related Offences CK16022226

On July 16, 2016 the man and his common-law wife began arguing. The dispute turned into a physical altercation as the woman was assaulted and threatened. The man fled the residence prior to police arrival.

Through investigation, the woman disclosed a previous incident of domestic violence.

Yesterday morning, shortly after 10:00 a.m. police located the man and he was arrested. The 59-year-old Morpeth man has been charged with uttering threats and two counts of assault. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Woman Charged with Dangerous Driving CK16022207

Yesterday morning, shortly after 5:00 a.m. the man arrived home at his residence in Wallaceburg with a female passenger. At this time, he observed his ex-girlfriend parked in his driveway. In an attempt to avoid any conflict, the man continued driving. The woman followed him and pulled up next to him in the curb lane on Wellington Street. The woman intentionally swerved left and struck the man’s vehicle. She continued to follow him and struck his vehicle several more times. Eventually, the man lost sight of the woman and reported the incident to police.

Just before 10:00 a.m. police located the woman and she was arrested. The 22-year-old Port Lambton woman has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and mischief over $5000. She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

No one was injured.

Stolen Vehicle from Ridge Line CK16022223

Sometime yesterday between midnight and 8:00 a.m. unknown suspect(s) stole a black 2014 Dodge Journey from a residence on Ridge Line. The vehicle was last seen with Ontario license plates AN61 996 and is valued at approximately $25,000.

Stolen Truck from Mitchell’s Bay CK16022253

Yesterday afternoon, a silver 2007 GMC Sierra pick-up truck was stolen from a residence in Mitchell’s Bay. The truck was last seen with Ontario license plates AH66 536. Value of the truck is estimated at $7000.

Stolen ATV in Bothwell CK16022333

Early this morning around 1:00 a.m. two men forced their way into a shed on Elm Street and stole a yellow 2007 CAN AM Renegade ATV. One man was wearing a gray hoodie while the other was wearing a blue hoodie. They were last seen riding the ATV eastbound on Oak Street with Ontario license plate 26DJ1.
