R.I.D.E. Program in Chatham

On December 17th, 2016 members of the Chatham-Kent Police conducted a R.I.D.E. check program in the city of Chatham. 480 vehicles were checked resulting in 5 roadside breath tests and 2 Traffic Tickets; there were no impaired drivers. Chatham-Kent Police will be conducting frequent R.I.D.E. programs throughout the holiday season.
Walpole Island Man Arrested for Threats

On December 17th, 2016 a 50 year old Walpole Island man was arrested by Walpole Police after he sent death threats to a 46 year old Wallaceburg Women. The Walpole man was transferred into Chatham-Kent Police custody where he was held for a bail hearing.
Attempt Break and Enter

On December 17th, 2016 a resident outside of Tupperville was alerted to an audible alarm at one of their outbuildings. The resident witnessed two suspects fleeing the area. The suspects fled the area prior to Police arrival. The suspects were scared away before they could gain entry into the building.
Motor Vehicle Collisions
In the past 24 hours Chatham-Kent Police were dispatched to 10 Motor Vehicle Collisions. The Chatham-Kent Police would like to re-iterate that with poor weather conditions special care needs to be taken on the roads. Sometimes staying home is the safest option; plan ahead and cut down on daily trips. If you must go out leave yourself plenty of time and drive with care.
