Chatham-Kent Daily News Release – 16June2016

The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 129 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Two people were arrested.

Man Charged with Assault Causing Bodily Harm CK16017888

Last night around 9:30 p.m. police responded to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance to speak with a woman regarding a domestic assault.

At this time, police learned that on the weekend, the woman was assaulted by her boyfriend. The woman also disclosed a previous incident of domestic violence, where the man damaged a bedroom door and put a hole through the drywall.

At 2:35 a.m. this morning, police located the man and he was arrested. The 25-year-old Chatham man has been charged with assault causing bodily harm and mischief under $5000. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man Charged with Failing to Comply CK16017902

On February 5, 2016 the man was released from custody with several conditions. One of those conditions stated that he was not to communicate with a specific woman.

Around 1:00 a.m. this morning, an officer on general patrol observed the man communicating with the woman on Princess Street.

The 27-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with failing to comply. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Theft of Tools in Chatham CK16017793

Sometime late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning, unknown suspect(s) entered a construction trailer on Wellington Street West and stole approximately $15,000 worth of various tools.

Theft of Electronics in Chatham CK16017836

Sometime June 13, 2016 between 12:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. unknown suspect(s) entered a residence on Selkirk Street and stole electronics valued at $6000.

Break and Enter in Chatham CK16017840

Sometime between June 13 at 12:00 p.m. and June 15 at 2:30 p.m. unknown suspect(s) forced their way into a residence on Lacroix causing about $200 damage. Once inside, the suspect(s) stole a 46” Samsung TV, set of speakers, an amplifier and various bottles of liquor.
