The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 118 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Three people were arrested.
Man Charged with Assault with a Weapon and Uttering Threats
On May 11, 2016, shortly after midnight, Police were called to an address on Joseph Street in Chatham for a disturbance. A resident had returned home to find a small group of people in his laneway. As he attempted to go into his home, one of the males confronted him making threats while revealing what was believed to be a firearm concealed in his waist. The victim fled to a neighboring home and contacted Police. The suspect fled the area prior to Police arrival and a warrant was subsequently issued for Assault with a Weapon and Uttering Threats.
Yesterday, Chatham-Kent Police Service received information that the male party involved in this incident was located and arrested by the Wingham Police Service. Members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service met Wingham officers and took custody of the male. The 35 year-old Formosa, Ontario male was later released from custody with conditions and a court date of June 3, 2016.
Break and Enter in Chatham
On May 14, 2016 officers attended an address on Adelaide Street South in Chatham in response to a Break and Enter to a detached garage. At approximately 3:30pm an unknown suspect(s) entered the garage and took scrap metal and a set of vehicle keys.

Break and Enter in Chatham
On May 14, 2016 officers attended an address on College Street in Chatham in response to a Break and Enter to a residence. The residence is unoccupied and under construction. Between May 13th and 14th an unknown suspect(s) entered the residence and stole several items including copper piping and light fixtures.

Man Charged with Impaired Driving
Around 2:45am this morning police were called the area of King Street West in Chatham in response to a suspicious vehicle. An officer on patrol in Chatham observed the vehicle driving on Colbourne Street with a popped tire and sparks coming from the rim. The officer initiated a traffic stop and through further investigation believed the man was driving his car while under the influence of alcohol. The man was arrested and transported to police headquarters for breath tests.
Marco Turato, 21 years, of Chatham was charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Refusal to provide a Breath sample. He was released pending a future court date of May 30, 2016. His vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days.
