The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 149 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Ten people were arrested.
Police Execute Search Warrant CK16030602
Yesterday, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Intelligence Section, with the assistance of the Critical Incident Response Team, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act warrant in Chatham.
Approximately $1500 worth of methamphetamine, crack cocaine, psilocybin, debt lists, digital scales and packaging materials were seized.
A 34-year-old man, 19-year-old man, 29-year-old man, 20-year-old man, 38-year-old woman, 36-year-old woman, all from Chatham, were arrested and charged with possession for the purposes of trafficking and three counts of drug possession.
The 19-year-old and 20-year-old men were additionally charged with failing to comply with condition on a prior release order. Both were held in custody pending a bail hearing.
The 29-year-old man was also arrested on an outstanding warrant and has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
The remaining charged persons were released pending a future court date of October 6, 2016.
Man Arrested from Wanted List CK16030634
On August 4, 2016 the man was released from custody for the offence of failing to comply with his Probation Order.
On August 12, 2016 he failed to attend court and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Last night, police located the man and he was arrested on the outstanding warrant. The 58-year-old Chatham man was released pending a future court date of September 20, 2016.
Woman Charged with Failing to Comply CK16030537
On September 12, 2016 the woman was released from custody with several conditions. One of those conditions stated that she was to remain in her residence between 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m. except for medical emergencies or if she was in the presence of her surety.
Yesterday morning at 7:50 a.m. police observed the woman standing outside a business in Chatham alone on her phone.
The 29-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with failing to comply. She was transported to the court house pending a bail hearing.
Break and Enter in Chatham CK16030563
Sometime between September 8th and September 13th unknown suspect(s) forced their way into a residence on Adelaide Street South causing approximately $100. Once inside, the suspect(s) stole a quantity of jewelry.
