Chatham-Kent Daily News Release – 14Oct2016

The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 135 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Two people were arrested.

Traffic Complaint leads to Arrest CK16034627

Yesterday afternoon, police responded to a traffic complaint in the area of Grand Avenue West in Chatham.

An officer located the man driving an e-bike and through investigation learned that he was prohibited from driving anywhere in Canada.

Matthew Humphrey, 30 years, of Grant Street in Chatham was charged with driving while disqualified. He was released pending a future court date of October 27, 2016. His e-bike was towed from the roadway.

Man Charged with Failing to Comply CK16034683

On January 27, 2015 the man was released from custody with several conditions. One of those conditions stated that he was to abstain from the consumption of alcohol.

Last night around midnight, police responded to an unwanted man at an establishment in Wallaceburg. The officer located the intoxicated man and he was arrested.

The 31-year-old Hagersville man has been charged with failing to comply. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Industrial Accident CK16034702

Just before 5:00 a.m. this morning, emergency crews responded to an industrial accident at WG Thompson and Sons on Kent Bridge Road.

A 20-year-old Thamesville man was transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance with non-life-threatening injuries.

The incident remains under investigation by the Ministry of Labour.
