Chatham-Kent Daily News Release – 14June2016

The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 120 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Seven people were arrested.

Domestic Disturbance Leads to Charges CK16017661

Shortly after 2:00 a.m. this morning, police responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence on Westcourt Boulevard in Wallaceburg. Through investigation, police learned that the man assaulted the woman and she in turn struck him with a beer bottle. Both the man and woman were arrested.

The 35-year-old Walpole Island man was charged with assault. The 22-year-old Wallaceburg woman was charged with assault with a weapon. Both have been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Police Arrest Man and Woman at Motel CK16017515 / CK16017516

Yesterday morning around 6:50 a.m. police located the pair together at a motel on Queens Line. Through investigation, police learned that the woman was currently bound by conditions not to associate with the man and he was wanted on an outstanding warrant for the offences of mischief under $5000 and break and enter.

As a result, the 26-year-old Chatham man was arrested on the outstanding warrant and the 19-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with failing to comply. Both were transported to the court house pending a bail hearing.

Man Charged with Uttering Threats CK16016467

On June 5, 2016 the man attended the YMCA in Chatham to use the facilities. An employee approached the man as he was failing to abide by the rules inside the facility. An argument began and the man threatened the employee. The man left the property prior to police arrival. Attempts were made to locate him, however when unsuccessful, a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Yesterday morning, police located the man and he was arrested on the outstanding warrant. Shane Parker, 31 years, of Pine Street in Chatham was charged with uttering threats. He was released pending a future court date of July 5, 2016.

Woman Arrested on Outstanding Warrant CK16017591

Yesterday afternoon around 4:30 p.m. an officer on general patrol observed the woman riding a bicycle southbound on St. Clair Street in Chatham. The officer recognized the woman and knew that she was currently wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to comply and failing to attend court.

The 18-year-old Chatham woman was arrested. She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
