Chatham-Kent Daily News Release – 14Dec2016

The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 128 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Three people were arrested.

Man Charged with Breaching his Curfew Condition CK16042368

On September 15, 2016 the man was released from custody with several conditions. One of those conditions stated that he was to obey a daily curfew of 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

This morning around 12:30 a.m. officers in the area of Gray Street in Chatham observed the man riding a bicycle. The 25-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with failing to comply.

Upon being searched incident to arrest, the man was found to be in possession of methamphetamine. He was additionally charged with drug possession. He has been held in custody pending bail hearing.

Woman Charged with Assault Causing Bodily Harm CK16039478

On November 19, 2016 shortly after 9:00 p.m. an altercation began between two women, known to each other, while at an establishment on King Street in Chatham.

The woman assaulted the victim, resulting in her requiring medical attention. The woman fled prior to police arrival, therefore, a warrant for her arrest for the offence of assault causing bodily harm was issued.

Last night, the woman was located and arrested in Windsor. The 29-year-old Windsor woman was released with conditions pending a future court date of December 30, 2016.

Woman Charged with Uttering Threats CK16042322

Yesterday afternoon, police responded to a disturbance at the Downtown Chatham Centre Pharmacy.

A 50-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with uttering threats.

She was released with conditions pending a future court date January 5, 2017.

Last night, just before 9:00 p.m. three teenage girls were walking southbound on Lorne Avenue near Elizabeth Street in Wallaceburg when they were approached by an unknown man walking northbound. The man reached out and grabbed one of the girl’s arm, possibly trying to get the cell phone that was in her hand. As she screamed, the man fled the area. The young girl was not physically injured.

The man was described as being white, 19-20 years, 5’10” with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a black coat/hoodie with a plaid pattern on the front and khaki pants.

Theft of Utility Trailer in Dresden CK16042323

Sometime between December 10, 2016 at 11:30 p.m. and December 11, 2016 at 8:00 a.m. unknown suspect(s) stole a 20 x 8 black steel tandem trailer from the south side of the Dresden Arena on North Street.

The trailer was last seen with Ontario license plate N75 49L.
