The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 152 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Three people were arrested.

Today, Chatham-Kent Fire & Emergency Services and Chatham-Kent Police Service will be teaming up for a positively amazing softball game against the students of Victor Lauriston Public School on Alexandra Avenue in Chatham. All are welcome to attend. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.

Man Charged with Multiple Counts of Breach of Probation CK16030449

Yesterday afternoon around 12:30 p.m. the man attended a residence in Chatham and spoke with the homeowner despite being on conditions not to attend his address or communicate with him. Police were notified of the incident.

Through investigation, police learned that the man also breached his conditions earlier in the month by attending this same residence and communicating with a woman he was not supposed to.

Last night, just before 6:00 p.m. police located the man and he was arrested. The 39-year-old man of no fixed address has been charged with five counts of failing to comply with his Probation Order. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Woman Charged with Theft CK16030466

Yesterday, an observant citizen observed the woman acting suspicious near a business on Richmond Street in Chatham. The woman stole a black Norco Plateau mountain bike and fled the area. The citizen followed the woman until police arrived.

The 20-year-old woman of no fixed address was arrested and charged with theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000. She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man Caught Stealing from Vehicles CK16030529

This morning, shortly after 4:00 a.m. police received information that a man was entering vehicles on Inshes Avenue in Chatham. A citizen in the area apprehended the man and held on to him until police arrived.

David Murphy, 27 years, of Riverview Drive in Chatham has been charged with three counts of theft under $5000 and three counts of possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000. He has been released pending a future court date of October 5, 2016.
