Protecting Your Home this March Break
The Chatham-Kent Police Service would like to offer the following safety tips for those traveling out of town. Should you be leaving your home unattended overnight or longer:
Keep a ‘lived-in’ look while you are away. Have mail picked up and arrangements made to have snow removed from your driveway should winter weather affect the area
Use automatic timers to turn lights on and off in various parts of the house at night
Keep valuables out of sight and secure them in a safety deposit box
Before walking out of the house, do one last check of all your windows and doors to ensure they are all closed and locked.
