Protecting Your Home this March Break
The Chatham-Kent Police Service would like to offer the following safety tips for those traveling out of town. Should you be leaving your home unattended overnight or longer:
– Keep a ‘lived-in’ look while you are away. Have mail picked up and arrangements made to have snow removed from your driveway should winter weather affect the area
– Use automatic timers to turn lights on and off in various parts of the house at night
– Keep valuables out of sight and secure them in a safety deposit box
– Before walking out of the house, do one last check of all your windows and doors to ensure they are all closed and locked.
