The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 159 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Seven people were arrested.
Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE)
Last night, police conducted RIDE spot checks in Chatham, Ridgetown, Wallaceburg and Tilbury.
Approximately 144 vehicles were checked throughout the Municipality with no infractions observed.
Man Turns Himself In on Outstanding Warrant CK16029839
Yesterday morning around 7:30 a.m. a 41-year-old Chatham man attended police headquarters and turned himself in on an outstanding warrant for three counts of breach of probation. He was transported to the court house pending a bail hearing.
Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrant CK16029884
Yesterday afternoon, police received information that an 18-year-old Wallaceburg man wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to comply with his release conditions was at an apartment on Wallace Street. Officers attended the area and located him. He was arrested and transported to the court house pending a bail hearing.
Police Conduct Compliance Checks
CK16029962 ā Last night, police attended a Tilbury residence and learned that a 42-year-old man was breaching his curfew condition. He was arrested shortly thereafter and transported to police headquarters. He has been charged with failing to comply and held in custody pending a bail hearing.
CK16029981 ā Early this morning, police attended a Chatham home and learned that a 31-year-old man was breaching his curfew condition. He was arrested and charged with failing to comply. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
CK16029983 ā While investigating the incident mentioned above in Chatham, police located a woman in the same area who was also breaching her release conditions. The 37-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with failing to comply. She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Ridgetown Man Charged with Being Intoxicated in a Public Place CK16029963
Last night, shortly after 9:00 p.m. police located the intoxicated man on Harold Street in Ridgetown. For his own safety, he was taken into custody, as he was unable to care for himself.
The 19-year-old man has been charged with being intoxicated in a public place. He will be released when sober.
Motor Vehicle Collision CK16029929
Shortly after 5:00 p.m. last night, police responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Langstaff Line between Payne Road and Highway 40.
The driver, lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway and struck a hydro pole. Luckily, he was not injured.
Total damage was estimated at $27,000.
The 20-year-old man was charged with an offence contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
