Chatham-Kent Daily News Release – 09July2016

The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 132 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Six people were arrested.

Break and Enter in Chatham

Sometime between July 5, 2016 and July 8, 2016 an unknown suspect(s) entered a garage on Braemar Boulevard in Chatham. Once inside, the suspect(s) stole a white 21 speed Trek bicycle.

Man Charged with Being Intoxicated in a Public Place

Last night around 5:30 p.m. police received information of a disturbance on Talbot Trail in Howard Township. Officers located an intoxicated man who was unable to care for himself. For his own safety he was taken into custody and transported to police headquarters.

The 28-year-old Courtice, Ontario man was charged with being intoxicated in a public place. He was released when sober.

Leamington Man Charged With Mischief

On July 3, 2016 at approximately 1:00 a.m. Police were contacted in regards to a robbery complaint. An investigation was completed and the allegations were found to be false.

On July 8, 2016 at 11.p.m. a 22 year old Leamington man was arrested and charged with ‎Mischief Under $5000 and Public Mischief. He was later released from Police custody with a court date of July 27, 2016.

Man Charged with Domestic Related Offences

Last night around 6:30 p.m. Police were contacted in regards to an ongoing domestic dispute between a male and female. Information was received that the female victim was receiving unwanted contact from the accused party. Based on previous charges that are also before the courts, the male was on conditions not to communicate or associate with the victim.

On July 9, 2016 at approximately 12:30 a.m. the 33-year-old Chatham man was located, arrested and charged with Break and Enter and multiple counts of Breach of Recognizance. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man Charged with Being Intoxicated in a Public Place

Last night around 4:00 a.m. police located a male on Queen Street, Chatham. The male was found to be intoxicated and unable to care for himself. For his own safety he was taken into custody and transported to police headquarters.

The 27-year-old Chatham, Ontario man was charged with being intoxicated in a public place. He was released when sober.
