The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 112 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Two people were arrested.
Man Charged with Break and Enter CK16037913
This morning, just before 5:00 a.m. an observant citizen contacted police regarding a suspicious man riding a bicycle pulling a wooden dolly with several cases of beer on Charing Cross Road near Seventh Line.
Police located the man who was in possession of approximately 10 cases of empty beer bottles. Through investigation police found broken beer bottles leading back to South Side Tap and Grill. Officers checked the business and a shed was found to have been entered.
The man was arrested and upon being searched incident to arrest, was also found to be in possession of a check book in the name of residents on Charing Cross Road. The owners were contacted and advised that at no time was anyone given permission to be in possession of their cheques.
The 25-year-old Sarnia man has been charged with break and enter and two counts of possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Teen Charged with Failing to Comply CK16037826
On October 4, 2016 the teen was released from custody with several conditions. One of those conditions stated that he was not to contact or communicate with a specific Wallaceburg girl.
On November 3, 2016 police learned that the teen tried to communicate with her through Facebook.
Yesterday morning, the teen turned himself in to police. The 17-year-old Walpole Island teen was arrested and charged with failing to comply. He was transported to the court house pending a bail hearing.
Theft on Erieau Road CK16037428
Sometime between November 3, 2016 at 9:00 p.m. and November 4, 2016 at 7:30 a.m. unknown suspect(s) stole four 12V truck batteries from a tractor trailer parked approximately 50m off the roadway. The suspect(s) also drained approximately 600 liters of fuel from the vehicle. Total value of the theft has been estimated at $2600.

Police Looking for the Owner of a Trailer CK16037861
Last night, shortly after 6:30 p.m. police responded to Wellwood Road in Buxton in regards to a possible stolen trailer. The 25’ flatbed trailer was located parked on the access road to a windmill with no license plate or serial number. The trailer was towed from the scene.
