The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 129 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Four people were arrested.

Man Charged with Impaired Driving CK16025307

Last night, around 9:45 p.m. police received information about a possible impaired driver. An officer located the man at the intersection of McNaughton Avenue and Prince Albert Road. Through investigation, the officer believed the man was driving his e-bike while under the influence of alcohol and he was arrested. The man was transported to police headquarters for breath tests.

Stanley Clelford, 68 years, of Merritt Line in Chatham Township has been charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit. He has been released pending a future court date of August 19, 2016.

Man and Woman Charged with Assault CK16025277 / CK16025296

Last night, police responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence on Talbot Trail. The husband and wife each separately called police for assistance.

Through investigation, police arrested both of them for assaulting each other. The 45-year-old man and 53-year-old woman have been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Intoxicated Man Arrested in Erieau CK16025281

Shortly after 7:00 p.m. last night, police responded to the area of the marina as an intoxicated man was passed out on a picnic table.

For his own safety, police arrested the 50-year-old Chatham man and transported him to police headquarters as he was unable to care for himself.

He was charged with being intoxicated in a public place and will be released when sober.

Stolen Vehicle in Wallaceburg CK16025301

Sometime early this morning, unknown suspect(s) stole a grey 2008 Volkswagen Touareg from the hospital parking lot on Margaret Avenue. The SUV was last seen with Ontario license plates BYAK 928.

Motor Vehicle Collision in Chatham CK16025218

Yesterday morning, around 10:00 a.m. emergency crews responded to a two vehicle collision on Princess Street near Colborne Street.

No one was injured. Total damage was estimated at $6000.

A 23-year-old man was charged with disobeying a stop sign.
