The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 147 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Six people were arrested.
Man Charged with Drug Offences CK16033565
Yesterday afternoon, members of the Provincial Joint Forces ‘Repeat Offender and Parole Enforcement’ (ROPE) Team attended an address in Wheatley and arrested a man on an outstanding warrant for failing to comply.
Members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service Intelligence Section also attended and through investigation, learned that the man was in possession of marihuana, cocaine, methamphetamine, hydromorphone, fentanyl, LSD and a large amount of cash in a shed on the property.
Total street value of the seized drugs has been estimated at $103,000.
The 31-year-old Essex man has been charged with four counts of drug possession for the purposes of trafficking and two counts of failing to comply. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Man Charged with Weapon Offences CK16033620
On August 18, 2016 around 11:00 a.m. the victim, a 50-year-old man was walking his dog on Wallace Street when he crossed paths with another man walking his two small dogs. The man began yelling at the victim as the dogs started barking at each other. The victim walked away, however the man approached him again and threatened him and his dog with a small knife. The man eventually walked away from the victim and police were notified of the incident.
Through investigation, police identified the man responsible and a warrant for the offences of uttering threats and weapons dangerous was issued for his arrest.
Late yesterday afternoon, police located the man and he was arrested on the outstanding warrant. Upon being searched incident to arrest, the man was found to be in possession of two knives.
The 55-year-old Wallaceburg man has been additionally charged with two counts of being in possession of a prohibited weapon. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Man Charged with Failing to Comply CK16033670
On September 22, 2016 the man was released from custody with several conditions. One of those conditions stated that he was to obey a daily curfew of 9:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
This morning, around 2:45 a.m. an officer on general patrol observed the man riding a bicycle southbound on St. Clair Street. The 20-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with failing to comply. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Stolen Trailer in Dresden CK16033589
Sometime between October 1st and October 5th unknown suspect(s) stole a black 2003 Tarn tandem axle flatbed car hauler from a business on Wellington Street. The 18’ trailer was last seen with Ontario license plate N91 00C.

Break and Enter in Chatham CK16033631
Sometime yesterday around 5:30 p.m. an unknown man entered a garage on Gregory Drive East and stole a DeWalt drill and four pairs of Maui Jim sunglasses. Total value of the theft has been estimated at $1200.

Motor Vehicle Collision in Dover Township CK16033539
Yesterday morning, police responded to a two vehicle collision on Jacob Road between Grande River Line and Pain Court Line.
Minor injuries were reported. Total damage was estimated at $2000.
A 63-year-old Highgate woman was charged with failing to share the roadway.
