Man Charged with Failing to Comply CK16000356

Yesterday afternoon around 3:50 p.m. police received information that the man who was currently bound by house arrest was in Wallaceburg. Shortly after 4:00 p.m. officers located the man on Wallace Street and he was apprehended.

The 32-year-old Port Lambton man has been charged with failing to comply. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man and Woman Arrested on Outstanding Warrants CK16000332

Yesterday morning, shortly after 10:00 a.m. police received information that the pair, both wanted on outstanding warrants, were currently inside a grocery store in Blenheim.

The 25-year-old Blenheim man was taken into custody for the offences of failing to comply and possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000. The 30-year-old Harwich Township woman was apprehended for the offences of theft of credit card, being in possession of a stolen credit card and using a stolen card.

Both were transported to the court house pending a bail hearing.

Woman Charged with Theft CK16000346

Yesterday afternoon, the woman attended the LCBO on Wellington Street in Chatham. While inside the store, the woman grabbed a 375ml bottle of Captain Morgan’s white rum and exited without paying. Total value of the stolen alcohol was $14.15. Police were notified of the incident and identified the woman responsible.

Approximately 3 hours later, officers located the woman and she was taken into custody. Gigette Burk, 39 years, of Thames Street in Chatham has been charged with theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000. She was released pending a future court date of January 26, 2016.

Motor Vehicle Collision CK16000352

Shortly after 2:00 p.m. yesterday afternoon, police responded to a two vehicle collision on Grand Avenue West near Violet Street in Chatham.

No one was injured. Total damage was estimated at $10,000.

A 21-year-old Thamesville woman was charged with careless driving.

Theft in Blenheim CK16000328

Sometime between December 23, 2015 and January 5, 2016, unknown suspect(s) forced their way into vehicle on Industrial Avenue. Various tools valued at $900 were stolen.
