Chatham-Kent Daily News Release – 04Feb2017

The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 96 calls for service in the last 24 hours. 5 people were arrested.

Robbery in Wallaceburg CK17004062

On February 3rd, 2017 a masked suspect attended the Subway Restaurant on McNaughton Ave. Wallaceburg. The suspect brandished a weapon and demanded money from the employees before fleeing the scene. Chatham-Kent Police were notified of the occurrence and able to make a quick arrest of the suspect. $350.00 and a replica firearm were recovered by arresting officers. The Young Offender was held pending a bail hearing.

Robbery in Chatham CK17004033

On February 3rd, 2017 at approximately 6:30pm an unknown suspect entered PharmaSave at 60 Keil Dr. S. Chatham. The suspect was armed with a black long gun and was wearing camouflage and a black face mask; suspect is believed to be male. Once inside the suspect took a number of Narcotics and fled the area. Chatham-Kent Police attended the area and were unable to locate the suspect.

Attempted Break and Enter CK17004039

On February 3rd, 2017 at approximately 6:45pm the Chatham-Kent Police attended 220 Queen St. Chatham for an alarm. On attending officers discovered a damaged door; entry was not gained. The suspect is male, under 6ft and was wearing a dark coat and a light coloured sweater with a hood. Damage to the door is estimated at $500.00.
