Police Execute Search Warrant CK16002868

Yesterday, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Intelligence Section, with the assistance of the Critical Incident Response Team, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a residence in Chatham.

Approximately $7000 worth of marihuana and cannabis resin was located and seized for analysis. A butterfly knife, switch blade, set of nunchucks and quantity of cash were also seized.

A 32-year-old Chatham man has been charged with:

– Possession for the Purposes of Trafficking x2

– Drug Possession

– Failing to Comply x6

– Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon x3

– Failing to Comply with Prohibition Order x18

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man Arrested from Wanted List CK16002804

Around 6:00 a.m. yesterday morning, police responded to a disturbance at a residence in Chatham. At this time, police located a man wanted for the offences of assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and breach of probation.

Through investigation, police learned that the man had assaulted and threatened two women inside the home.

The 40-year-old Chatham man was charged with assault, uttering threats, forcible confinement and breach of probation. He was transported to the court house pending a bail hearing.

Woman Charged with Uttering Threats CK16002825

Around noon yesterday, police received information that the woman had threatened a family member directly over the telephone and through a third party text.

Police located the woman around 2:30 p.m. and she was arrested. The 37-year-old Blenheim woman has been charged with two counts of uttering threats. She was released pending a future court date of February 24, 2016.

Man Charged with Impaired Driving CK16002892

Just before 5:00 a.m. this morning, police located the man driving on McNaughton Avenue East in Chatham. The officer believed the man was driving while under the influence of alcohol and a roadside test was administered. The man failed and was arrested. He was transported to police headquarters for further breath tests.

The 25-year-old Chatham man has been charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit. He will be released pending a future court date when sober.

Break and Enter in Highgate CK16002847

Sometime between February 2 at 6:30 p.m. and February 3 at 5:40 a.m. unknown suspect(s) forced their way into a garage on Spence Line. Damage was estimated at $500.

Once inside, the suspect(s) stole a red 2005 Honda CR85 dirt bike valued at $1500. The bike has black rims and GoPro stickers on both sides of the body.
