Man Charged with Harassment CK17010104
The man was involved in a relationship with a woman. In January 2017, their relationship ended. Since the break-up, the woman had asked the man not to call her or attend her residence. However, he continued to do so. In addition and at her request, police had instructed the man not to call or communicate with the woman.
In March 2017, the man attended the woman’s residence in an attempt to speak with her. The woman called police. The man left prior to the officer’s arrival.
Through investigation, the woman divulged two historical assaults. There were no reports of injuries as a result of the assaults.
Due to the whereabouts of the man being unknown, a warrant was issued for his arrest.
This morning just after 7:00 a.m. the 41-year-old Highgate man attended Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters and turned himself in. He was arrested and charged with harassment and two counts of assault. He is being held in custody for a bail hearing.
