Chatham-Kent Daily News Release – 03Nov2016

The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 117 calls for service in the past 24 hours. 3 people were arrested.

Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrant

On Thursday, November 3, 2016 at approximately 3:30 a.m., an officer located a 16-year-old youth walking in downtown Chatham. The officer received information that there was an outstanding warrant for the youth from another police agency. As the officer was attempting to arrest the youth he fled. After a brief foot chase he was apprehended and arrested. During a subsequent search, officers located some crystal methamphetamine in his possession. The youth was charged with possession of a controlled substance and will be transported to the police agency that held the warrant.

Motor Vehicle Collision in Chatham

At approximately 12:40 p.m. yesterday, police were called to a collision involving a motorcycle and vehicle on St. Clair Street in Chatham. Although there was extensive damage to both vehicles and the motorcyclist was knocked of her bike, she only suffered minor injuries. The driver of the car was charged with failing to yield right of way.

Wallaceburg Man Arrested for Bail Violation

On Thursday, November 3, 2016 at approximately 3:20 a.m., police were called to a Mill Street West business in Tilbury in regards to an intoxicated male. Upon arrival, police found that the male had court-imposed conditions prohibiting him from consuming any alcohol. Subsequently the male was arrested and transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters.

A 40-year-old Wallaceburg man now faces a breach of recognizance charge. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
