Chatham-Kent Daily News Release – 03April2016

Charges Laid in Domestic – CK16008322

At approximately 6:00p.m. on April 2, 2016 police responded to a residence on Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg with regards to a domestic disturbance. The victim advised police that she had been assaulted by her partner. The male party was located a short time later during a traffic stop. Through investigation the victim disclosed historical domestic violence incidents.

A 20 year old Wallaceburg male has been charged with Domestic related assault X 7 and Assault with a Weapon. The male was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Police Looking for Assistance in Mischief Investigation – CK16008307

At approximately 3:30p.m. on April 2, 2016 police spoken with the victim of a road rage incident in the city of Chatham. The victim advised he was driving in the area of Grand Avenue and St. Clair Street when another male driver attempted to cut him off. The driver continued to follow the victim, attempting to hit his vehicle, and coming within inches of causing a collision. The incident continued throughout the city, and both parties stop in a residential area in the south of Chatham. The suspect driver exited his vehicle with a crow bar, and approached the victim’s vehicle. The victim remained in his vehicle. The suspect used to the crow bar and smashed two window of the victim’s vehicle and caused damage to the top of the vehicle, before leaving the area.

The suspect’s vehicle is described as a red Pontiac Firebird or Sunfire.

Break and Enter

At approximately 7:00a.m. on April 2, 2016 police responded to an address on Cross Street in the city of Chatham with regards to a Break and Enter that occurred sometime overnight. The unknown suspect(s) took approximately $1,500 of various tools.
