Text to 911

As of February 1st, 2017 the Chatham-Kent Police is launching their text to 911 capacity for those living in and travelling through our community with speech accessibility needs. Texting via 911 is restricted in Canada for those who are deaf, deafened, hard of hearing or speech impaired (DHHSI) requiring speech accommodations. Anyone with such accessibility considerations is required to register with their cellular provider in order to access 911 with texting abilities from a cellular device.
