Charges Laid in Relation to Two Robberies

On Saturday December 10, 2016, at approximately 7:30 p.m., a lone male entered a pharmacy located at 1657 Dundas Street. The male displayed what appeared to be a handgun but was later discovered to be an imitation, and demanded narcotics. The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of prescription medication and fled the scene.

Police attended the area and located the suspect male, along with an adult female, in a vehicle nearby.

As a result of the investigation, Ronald Schaufler (50), and Dee Everest (22), both of London, are charged jointly with the following offences:

– Armed robbery, contrary to Section 343(d) of the Criminal Code of Canada; and

– Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

Ronald Schaufler is also charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences:

– Wear a disguise with intent to commit an indictable offence, contrary to section 351(2); and

– Use imitation firearm during the commission of an indictable offence, contrary to section 85(2)(a).

Through the investigation, it was also determined that Schaufler was responsible for another armed robbery that took place at a pharmacy on November 26, 2016.

As a result, Ronald Schaufler is also charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences:

– Armed robbery, contrary to section 343(d);

– Wear a disguise with intent to commit an indictable offence, contrary to section 351(2); and

– Use imitation firearm during the commission of an indictable offence, contrary to section 85(2)(a).
