DRYDEN – The Dryden Police Service have charged a 44-year-old inmate of the Kenora District Jail for a bomb threat at the Dryden High School on August 10, 2016.
Edward Hamel apparently called in a bomb threat to the Dryden Police Dispatch Centre, causing a full emergency response and the evacuation of staff and students attending summer programs.
Hamel is now facing charges of Public Mischief and Uttering Threats.
Dryden Police report that the evacuation was done safely without incident and the Dryden High School was closed and secured for the remainder of the day.
Hamel remains in custody at this time.
