(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) –On April 13, 2015 Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received several reports of vehicle entries on Alice Street and Allenford Road, in the Town of South Bruce Peninsula.
Bruce Peninsula OPP followed up each report with assistance from the Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Crime Unit.
Jacob GODIN, age 23, of Owen Sound, ON has been charged with Possession of Property, Theft under $5000 and Trespass at Night. He is scheduled to appear in court on May 28, 2015 to answer to the charges. A quantity of stolen property was recovered at the time of the arrest.
Bruce Peninsula OPP is recommending vehicle owners follow tips from the Lock it or Lose it initiative to prevent the theft of your vehicle or theft of property from your vehicle:
Always roll your vehicle’s windows, lock the door and pocket the key
If you have a garage, use it. Lock the door as well as your vehicle
Always park your vehicle in a well-lit area
Never leave valuable objects or packages in plain view
Never leave your vehicle unattended when its running
