Charge Laid In 3 Vehicle Collision On Hwy 6

(TOWNSHIP OF SOUTHGATE, ON) – On October 21, 2017 at approximately 4:39 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 6 near Southgate Road 12 in the Township of Southgate.

All three vehicles, a 2006 Pontiac G6E, a 2006 Nissan ASL and a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck were travelling northbound on Highway 6. As the first two vehicles slowed down for a lead vehicle wishing to turn into a driveway, the pick-up truck rear ended the Nissan causing it to come into contact with the Pontiac.

There were no injuries reported.

The driver of the pick-up truck, 54 year old Gary SWAIN of Machias, New York, was issued a Provincial Offence Notice for Following Too Close under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).
