(HOWICK, ON) – A 39 year old male driver from Howick is facing an Over 80 charge following a motor vehicle collision that took place on December 1, 2014. At approximately 9:30 p.m. Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were dispatched to the scene of a single motor vehicle rollover collision that took place on McIntosh Line near Gough Road.
Upon arrival, officers observed a Dodge Dakota pickup truck that had rolled over and had come to rest in a corn field off of McIntosh Line. Upon speaking with the uninjured driver the investigating officer noted the driver had been drinking alcohol. A roadside screening test was administered and the driver registered a fail. He was arrested and subsequently transported to the Listowel OPP detachment for breath tests. He provided two samples of his breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician and both tests registered over the legal limit.
As a result, 39 year old Chadwick HILSON from Howick Twp. has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. He has a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on January 5, 2015. He received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and his motor vehicle was impounded for seven days.
