Chad Tinning – Flight From Police, Stolen Truck, Breach Probation

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) On Wednesday January 11, 2012 shortly after 7 p.m. a Perth County OPP officer observed a white and tan GMC Sierra pickup truck, which had been reported stolen from a Perth County rural property along Road 130 on January 10, 2012.

The officer followed the truck whose driver tried to evade police and abandoned the vehicle in a field south of Line 61. The driver ran from the truck and using the cover of darkness attempted to escape undetected. Police contained the area and with the assistance of the OPP West Region Emergency Response Team and the OPP Canine Unit, tracked the suspect to Brunner where he was located and arrested.

Chad Tinning (23) of Stratford has been charged with “flight from police”, “dangerous operation of a motor vehicle”, “breach of probation”, and three counts of “possession of property obtained by crime, under $5000”. He is scheduled to appear at a bail hearing on Thursday January 12, 2012 in Stratford Court.
