(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Thursday September 08, 2011 shortly before midnight an officer on patrol observed a pickup truck drive over a curb as it left a parking lot. When the officer activated the cruisers emergency lights the driver of the truck pulled over on Wallace Ave. North, and drove the truck onto the sidewalk. The officer noticed that the driver had been drinking alcohol and displayed signs of impairment. The driver was transported to the Palmerston OPP Detachment where two Intoxilyzer breath tests confirmed that he had blood alcohol concentrations above the legal limit.
Chad Peacock (26) of Tobermory has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and operation of a motor vehicle with over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100 ml of blood. He is scheduled to appear in Listowel Court on Wednesday October 12, 2011 to answer to these charges. He was also served a 90 day drivers licence suspension. The vehicle was also impounded for 7 days.
