On November 30, 2015, members of the Guelph Police Service Drug Enforcement Unit began an investigation in regards to the trafficking of Crystal Methamphetamine. On December 3, 2015 police were granted three CDSA search warrants authorizing them to enter and search three units at a local Motel. In the early morning hours, members of the Tactical Response Unit and Drug Enforcement Unit executed the warrants arresting a total of twelve adults within the three units. Police discovered and seized various quantities of Crystal Methamphetamine, Marihuana, Percocet and Morphine. Police also found and seized items indicative of drug trafficking and drug usage. One prohibited weapon under the Criminal Code was seized, a set of Brass Knuckles.
A 43-year-old Owen Sound male has been charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of property obtained by crime. He will appear in court on January 15, 2016.
A 52-year-old Guelph female has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and two counts of possession of a controlled substance. She will appear in court on January 15, 2016.
A 30-year-old Elmira female has been charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance. She will appear in court on January 12, 2016.
A 33-year-old Guelph female has been charged with possession of a controlled substance. She will appear in court on January 15, 2016.
A 36-year-old Guelph male has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, two counts of breach of recognizance and possession of a prohibited weapon. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on December 3, 2015.
A 26-year-old male of no fixed address has been charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance and two counts of breach of probation. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on December 3, 2015
A 32-year-old Guelph female was wanted by Waterloo Regional Police and has been turned over to them.
All other arrested adults were released without charges.
