On November 29, 2015 at 4:12 p.m., the Guelph Police while returning from an escort to Waterloo stopped to help a motorist with a broken down vehicle at Kossuth and Shantz station. The driver fled from police into a wooded area. It was discovered that the vehicle had been stolen from Waterloo. Guelph Police Dog General attended to search for the suspect. He was located by the police dog after a 5 km canine track that lasted over an hour. A passenger in the motor vehicle and the driver have been charged with possession of stolen property.
