(PUSLINCH TWP, ON) – On Monday July 8th, 2013 at approximately 12:35pm Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers received a call regarding a collision involving a car and a cyclist.
Investigation revealed that a 2004 Chevy Malibu and a cyclist were westbound on County Road 36 near Watson Road when the vehicle driver went out to pass the bicycle and the mirror came into contact with the rider. The 52 year old male rider was knocked off of his bike and was transported to Guelph General Hospital by Guelph-Wellington Emergency Services (EMS) with non-life threatening injuries. The vehicle driver was uninjured.
Amanda Baltin aged 23 of Eden Mills has been charged with Careless Driving contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. She is scheduled to appear in Guelph court on September 11, 2013 to answer to the charge.
