BROCKTON, ONTARIO: The advance team of the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, Canada’s famous air demonstration team, are arriving at the Saugeen Municipal Airport
(SMA) in Brockton on January 25, 2017 in preparation for the 150th Anniversary of Bruce County and Canada in June.
The inspection team of Snowbird 10, Captain Blake McNaughton and Captain Paul Faulkner will arrive at the SMA on January 25th, 2017 and depart by road transportation
to CFB Meaford.
The team will return to the SMA on Thursday, January 26th, 2017 at 1300 hours to inspect the facilities and meet the press. On departure, weather permitting, they will do a
fly by.
The Canadian Forces Snowbirds will perform in the name of the 150th Anniversary of Bruce County and Canada on June 21st, 2017 in the afternoon. During their 30 to 50
minute show, which is choreographed to music, the Snowbirds will perform more than 50 different formations and manoeuvres, including thrilling solo passes, graceful nine-plane formations and exciting rolls and loops.
During the show season, the Snowbirds will perform in approximately 60 air shows in about 35 different locations, representing the Professionalism, Skill and Teamwork of the
Canadian Forces.
The 150th Bruce Anniversary air show will have many more exciting performances of other aircrafts yet to be named. The organizers are also planning more events as when
the COPA convention was at the SMA. Again this air show is planned to be gratis to the public.
